The carbonised objects used to produce the Remains works are archaeological and poetic. The sense of deterioration, transformation and transcendence are present and visible. The outward form is transformed from the original to create something new. Their vulnerability is apparent in their delicate carbonised structures, and if held too tightly, they would turn to ash and slip through your fingers.
